The Middle Window: Poems of Refraction
Traprock Books, Eugene, OR
The 21 poems in this chapbook all have something to do with windows: what you see when you look through them (from a car, from a house, from the outside of a museum storage shed). But they’re really about the music that happens on one side of the window — whether it be the silent music made by a forgotten set of dancing marble statues, the odd collection of broken-glass sounds made by a pipe organ, or the distant sounds of dogs barking and birds singing when you first wake up in the morning. The Middle Window is simply the place where the music can be heard best. Cover art by Marilyn Singh.
